Prayer Of Confession

Too often we forget that to nurture and love ourselves and those closest to us, is to love and nurture You God and what You have blessed us with.

Take away the pessimist within us God, and replace it with a voice that says, “I am going to try this and it might just work,’ so that we can use the talents You have given us.

Take away our stressed and cluttered minds God, and replace it with a will to put our busy lives in Your hands.

Take away our guilt Lord, and reassure us that the little things we do to help do make a difference.

Take away our fear and self-conscious thoughts, and replace it with words that defend the innocent and those unable to speak for themselves.

Take away our prejudice Lord, and replace it with Your goodness and Your will to serve others.

Take away our bitterness Lord, and replace it with forgiveness and love for others.

Take away our blindness, and open our eyes to the friends, possibilities and support networks that surround us.

Lord, help us to pray for ourselves, so that we can help to show the world Your goodness and grace.

Prayer Of Confession

Thankyou for love.

Love gives us happiness, love gives us laughter and love gives us contentment.

Through love we have friends, family and happy memories.

Love let´s us help when it is needed and love gives us help when we need it.

Love gives us courage and the will to risk for ourselves and those that we love.

Love is our fuel, love is our reason, and love is our God.

How do we forget so easily about something so natural to us?

So often we walk away from or make ourselves too busy for love.

Too often we let our prejudices stop us loving.

To love is to be more like You God.

Help us to love and to be loved.

Prayer of Confession and Adoration

God, we come to You seeking forgiveness and to confess the things that we are ashamed of.  We confess that we often make speeches about justice rather than actually act upon our words;  that we sometimes cling to self-interest and small-mindedness, rather than to love, kindness and compassion;  we confess that we are not always as we seem to others, nor even as we pretend to be to ourselves. Lord, we come to you in times as busy and troubled as today, knowing that we can not always help in a way that we would wish to.  We come to you knowing that our lives are far more comfortable than others in the world and that we still complain.  We come to you suppressing the things that we are most ashamed of, too ashamed to tell anyone but You.  But we also come knowing that You are full of forgiveness, even when we are not.  That You will show us love, even when we forget to show love to others, and even to ourselves.  We come knowing that You will always be there to help us and guide us when we want to be more like Jesus.  Lord, take these confessions and turn them into a will within us to be more loving, more aware, more like You.  For these things and more we pray,

Prayer of Confession

Dear forgiving God,

We come before You as unsatisfied people, frustrated by things that surround us and things that lie within us.

We come before You angry at our lack of energy for fighting for justice and peace.  Lord, turn our anger into action. Give us the courage to spread Your message of love and peace to a world ridden with hatred and war.

Forgive us for our ignorance.  We have not tried to understand or even know about what is happening and what has happened to others.  We have formed uneducated opinions of other cultures and other people.  Grant us the willingness to listen and accept other principals and ideals.

Lord, some of us have spent so much time busying ourselves with trifling self-centred matters that we have not taken the time to look at and appreciate the wonderful things that You have given us.  Help us to find the time to enjoy simple pleasures. 

Lord, we constantly underestimate Your power and the abilities that You place within us.  Remind us that wherever You are there is hope, and that we can always spread that hope to others.

Lord there are some things that we would rather not talk of aloud.  We hand them over to You now. 

Lord, we pray that You will inspire us to do good in a world that is focused on evil, so that one day You may see Your world at peace.

Prayer of Confession

Dear forgiving God,

We come here tonight with happy faces, but inside there are things that we hide away with our smiles.  We have turned away from those in need, put down our friends, we´ve been unable to help those in need, we´ve made material things our priority, and we have forgotten You.  We give to You now, our personal confessions Lord.

Lord, take away these burdens and replace them with strength so that this week we may act in a way that is more like the way that You teach us.
